The band is thrilled about our recent release of “Carousel,” a song we consider one of our finest studio recordings to date. We are so proud of this song, both for its message — an inspiring song for challenging times — and its production, with rich harmonies (our fave!) and layers of instrumentation. Tim's piano track and Mori Rothhorn's guest violin part add the finishing touches on this Tamiko May composition.
“Carousel” explores the idea of how we as individuals — consciously or unconsciously — often find ourselves going “round and round” in circles. Even when we strive to make changes in our lives, we can feel helpless, bridled, and stuck in patterns — or caught in institutionalized systems — that don't make change easy. And now more than ever, we know that for all the “horses on the carousel," it's "time to wake up!”
