From the recording Carousel
Sometimes, when we try to make changes in our lives, we feel stuck, helpless. "Carousel" explores this idea of how — consciously or unconsciously — we sometimes find ourselves going "round and round" in circles, in a pattern that doesn't allow for change.

Lyrics
We think we’re wild horses
Running fast and free
But the halter’s slipped ‘round our heads
Tied to a lead we cannot see
They’re teaching us to follow
And we do it oh so well
But it’s not unless the ride stops
That we can finally tell
We’ve been going round and round and round and round and round
We’ve been going round and round and round and round and round
And the race that we’ve been running
As we gallop at high speed
Can’t be won inside the circle
With the same ones always in the lead
Don’t reach for rings, just ring the bell
It’s time to wake up
All the horses
On the carousel
Face the fear of losing out
On some dream that's pre- prepared
I’m not used to loose reins
And I’m feeling kind of scared
To leave the organ music and
The brass sleeves all behind
As we gallop towards a future
That we ourselves define
When we stop going round and round and round and round and round
Stop going round and round and round and round and round
And the race that we’ve been running
As we gallop at high speed
Can’t be won inside the circle
With the same ones always in the lead
Don’t reach for rings, just ring the bell
It’s time to wake up
It’s time to wake up
It’s time to wake up
All the horses
On the carousel
Can we stop going round and round and round and round and round
Can we stop going round and round and round and round and round
On the carousel
Carousel
