The Dangling Participles (full band) | Mennonite Arts Weekend

Mennonite Arts Weekend | Sharonville United Methodist Church, 3751 Creek Road, Cincinnati, OH
The Mennonite Arts Weekend (MAW) is a biennial gathering, organized and supported by members of Cincinnati Mennonite Fellowship, so every other February, MAW invites artists and art enthusiasts to join together for a weekend of presentations, workshops, and performances.
MAW began in 1992, and came about as the result of a conversation that explored the need for a gathering that would bring Mennonite artists together in an effort to help them “reclaim their identity/relationship with the church," as some of them had found themselves on the periphery, the outskirts of the church community. In doing so, MAW seeks to encourage creative expression in Mennonite communities, to provide exposure for artists working in different facets of the arts, to provide a setting for interaction and the exchange of ideas, and to bring together practicing Mennonite artists and others of all traditions interested in the arts.
This description speaks somewhat to Austin's experience. Though he grew up in a very Mennonite church, home, and community, Austin no longer finds himself in that community, but it is still much a part of his upbringing and past that he respects, even if it no longer is the dominating feature of his identify.
Musical guests at previous Mennonite Arts Weekend celebrations include such nationally touring musical acts as The Steel Wheels, and more recently, Girl Named Tom.
The Dangling Participles are honored to have been invited and will participate actively throughout the event: Saturday, 10:00am: Youth Music Session (with Anara Pearl) Saturday, 3:15pm: Concert Saturday, 7:30pm: Shared Evening Concert (with Chris Janzen, Anara Pearl, and others)
