Folk Alliance Region Midwest (FARM) is our regional chapter of Folk Alliance International (FAI). It's purposes are to promote traditional, contemporary and multi-cultural folk music and related performing arts in the Midwest region and hold an annual regional conference.

Basically, it's four days and three nights of performances, mentoring sessions, workshops, jam sessions, song circles, and networking with folk music professionals — artists, DJs, managers, music educators, journalists, venue hosts, marketers, etc. As Austin describes it: "It's a wicked combination of musical inspiration and sleep deprivation."

The Dangling Participles duo of Austin Kaufmann and Tamiko Rothhorn will perform at several showcases, the most exciting of which takes place on the main stage: the 2024 Folk DJ Showcase. Performers for this showcase are individually selected by the most renowned Folk DJs in the Midwest. We're honored to receive our invitation to perform from DJ Marilyn Rea Beyer, host of The Midnight Special and Folkstage on Chicago's WFMT.
